Kiwanis members love to serve our community. We have one day events as well as ongoing year round projects. Some of our Kiwanis members have even started projects that are uniquely The "Kiwanis Club Of Greater Brandon" projects. Come to a meeting or inquire about joining our club.
Brandon Community HeadStart Christmas
Each year we plan a visit from Santa Claus. He reads the Night Before Christmas and gives each child a gift.
The BookWorks program brings together volunteer readers and children to promote childhood literacy. Volunteers read to preschool children and then present each child with a book of their own to take home. We presently read at 14 schools and 500 students.
Kiwanis Kicks
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon’s program, Kiwanis Kicks.
We are embarking on helping our local schools with socks and shoes for some of their neediest students. We started the program in May 2014 after the guidance counselor at Boyette Springs asked if we could help them with about 15 pair of shoes. That is how the need was discovered and our Kiwanis Kicks program began.
We know the need is great. And while our hearts are limitless, our budget is not.
The form below is designed to allow each school to make request for multiple students.

"PROJECT SMILE"
This is a locally cultivated and run project. With the help of cooperate sponsors and grant money, for the last 4 years we have grown this project to feed 175 needy children. Please read our story on our funding page, simply click on the picture below.
- 1/3 kids in Hillsborough go hungry
- Schools only help 5 days a week
- We provide a w/e backpack of food
- 2016/17 will be our 5th year
- Goal is to reach 200 kids.

Teacher Appreciation
We invite our principals and guidance counselors to one of our meetings to share their programs and ideas. A small gift is given in appreciation for their continue support of our Terrific Kid program.
Terrific Kids is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance.
“Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.
Students work with their classroom teacher to establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance or school work. Students who achieve their goals as determined by the classroom teacher are recognized as Terrific Kids and are awarded a certificate, pencil and bumper sticker.
